I did a post recently about a photo I came across of Lara Bingle. She was wearing this really simple black shift dress with flats and a great statement bag. The look was clean and crisp, and in my opinion, the perfect way to wear black without looking too heavy. And as a brunette, when I do wear black, I am very mindful to steer clear of over doing it...verging into gothic territory is not my idea of a good time!
I used to wear so much black that eventually I got so sick of it I just stopped wearing it altogether. I'm slowly re kindling my love of black, this time by keeping things a little more streamlined...
So as soon as I saw that pic of Lara, I had this desperate need for a little black dress...something that can be worn in the day, but easily dressed up at night...and when you're looking for something so simple, well, you never find it...so I turned to my fantastic mother, who has been making me some little shift dresses for our upcoming trip to Italy...and voila! This little black dress was born!
We decided to go for a linen fabric to keep the texture interesting...and added the two little splits to add some interest...I'm loving the end result...we will be friends for years to come!
It's coming in to Winter over here so I threw on my Iro leather jacket...she's the perfect black leather jacket!
And these amazing little black booties from Oroton...a chic little all black outfit...and I kept the make up and hair super simple to keep the look a little relaxed...

Really gorgeous look Rose. I love the cut of the dress. You're mum is a godsend! Perfect pairing too with the Iro jacket (what's not to love about the jacket) and simple booties.
